The official currency is Colon. US Dollars are accepted in many places. ATMs are easily available throughout Costa Rica. Cards are widely accepted. Spanish is the official language of Costa Rica. English is widely spoken in all tourist areas. The best time to visit Costa Rica is between November to April. April to October is a good time for turtle spotting on the Caribbean coast.
