Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country. It is a multicultural society, populated by Malays, Chinese, Indians and indigenous people. The best time to visit depends on the destination. Kuala Lumpur is a year round destination. February to August is in general ideal to travel in Malaysia. The official language is Malay. English is widely spoken in cities and around major tourist areas. Many Indian languages and a variety of Chinese dialects and some indigenous languages are also spoken. The Malaysian currency is the Ringgit. Foreign currencies can easily be exchanged. ATMs are tricky; it may not always accept your cards. As always, be careful when using credit cards and normally cash is the best option.
