Geographically it has 3 distinct regions: the Atlantic Lowlands, the North Central Highlands, and the Pacific Lowlands, each with a unique climate and geography.

Nicaragua has about 78 national parks, each with distinct wildlife, landscape and floral beauty. These parks constitute to nearly 20% of the total territory. Adventure buffs can enjoy ample activities such as horse riding, scuba diving, boating and golf. Nicaragua is considered as the best place for Deep sea fishing in Central America. Spectacular colonial cities, sandy beaches and beautiful tropical forests make the visitor experience complete in every sense.

January to April is generally considered the best season to travel to Nicaragua as the weather is driest. April to July is recommended for fishing enthusiasts. Cordoba is the official currency of Nicaragua and Spanish is its official language. Usage of English has proliferated more recently and people on the Caribbean coast also speak indigenous languages.
