Romania is located in the Northern Balkan Peninsula is a perfect blend of natural beauty of the Carpathian Mountains, with its untrammelled and unspoilt wilderness. This dynamic country also has a rich heritage of culture and arts, and cities that ooze charm and energy.
The medieval heritage of the country can be seen in the Corvinilor Castle, and of course the Bran Castle, home to Bram Stoker’s Count Dracula. The region is also home to 200 Saxon villages in Transylvania which are World Heritage Sites.  The Princely Court in Curtea de Arges, Central Eco-Tourism Museum and Alba Carolina Citadel are some of the star attractions of Romania.
Adventure enthusiasts have a lot to look out for. Bear watching in the Piatra Craiului, Danube Delta bird watching and fishing, hiking and horseback riding in the Carpathian Mountain range, jet-skiing and scuba diving in the Black Sea, and caving in the Scarisoara Cave are just a few of the fun activities in Romania. You can also indulge yourself to the medical spas like Mangalia which have thermal and mineral springs.
Leu is the national currency, and exchange of currency is easy at banks. Romanian is the official language and people hardly speak in English. The natives are hospitable but conservative. The best time to visit is mid May-September.
