This internship in culinary arts & sciences gives you the chance to get up close to this fascinating world and understand how it works behind the scenes. From farmer's markets to bread making and authentic French cooking - you will have the chance to observe the best at work and then practice your skills under their expert supervision.
In addition to the best of French food you will also get a chance to get up close to French culture, take a walking tour, and eat some fantastic food.

Day 1
23 June: Arrival – Paris Open or Close

On arrival in Paris we transfer to the hotel - our accommodation for the next one week. Once there, you will be briefed about the institute and the experiences.

Day 2
24 June: Orientation at the Institute; Pasta Making & Tour of Montemart Open or Close

Begin your course in the culinary sciences this morning with an introduction to French cooking followed by a course in Pasta making.
Later this afternoon, we head out for a tour of the Montemart district of Paris.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3
25 June: Food Walking Tour & Vegetarian Cooking Open or Close

Start today with a food walking and market tour. We continue the day with an afternoon session at the institute where we learn about vegetarian cooking - French style!

Day 4
26 June: Introduction to French Pastry Open or Close

Today is an exciting day with an introduction to French pastry! Watch the experts at work and then try your hand at making croissants, Madelines, danishes and more.
We have the evening free today to head out on our own and explore a little bit of Paris at our own pace.

Day 5
27 June: Macaron Making & Paris Social Tour Open or Close

End your time at the institute with a grand finale - learn how to make macarons! These delicious treats are tricky to make so get them right and you’ll have everyone impressed!
Later this evening head out on an off-the-beaten-path tour of Paris and visit organisations that are working to integrate refugees into Parisian life.

Day 6
28 June: Paris Hop-on Hop-off Open or Close

With our time at the institute at an end, we spend the day on a hop-on hop-off tour of Paris. This is our chance to get to know this fascinating city a little bit better and do some last minute shopping before we leave tomorrow.

Day 7
29 June: Departure Open or Close

We check out after breakfast this morning and head to the airport for the flight back home.

The lodge has a choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food available for all meals. 
Q. Can specific dietary requirements be managed? 
Yes, they can. If you have any food allergies do let us know well in advance so we can plan the meals accordingly. 
Q. Can volunteers choose which activities they want to participate in? 
This trip is meant to expose volunteers to different experiences and the more you do, the more you will learn. All volunteers are expected to participate in all planned activities.
