45 days before arrival: No cancellation charges
Between 45 and 11 days of the event: 50% of full trip price
Less than 10 days - 100% of full trip price
You may transfer spot and room to another runner at any point at zero cancellation.
There is no refund option on this trip, unless you are covered under our No-Risk Insurance Option. You may however apply payments from this trip to future trips / camps.

How can I safeguard against cancellation losses in case I am unable to travel for this trip?
Book with confidence: opt for Active Holiday Company's No-Risk Insurance Option.
Our No-Risk Insurance of Rs.4,999 (AED 240 / US$70) allows you a full refund of your trip payment if you need to cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before the start of the trip for any reason. This is valid only for bookings made for this trip.
This is how this works:
Your No-Risk Insurance option allows us to cover costs for our small suppliers against last minute cancellations if you are unable to make it during these uncertain times.
You need to opt in and pay the additional amount of Rs.4,999 at the time of booking. The only condition is that you choose this option at the time of booking and pay for it along with your deposit (you can't opt in at a later date).
It's really that simple.

What happens if you need to cancel your booking within 48 hours of the trip start?
Cancellations within 48 hours under this policy are accepted only if you or someone you have been with in the previous 07 days has tested positive for COVID-19 virus. A copy of the medical test report needs to be submitted.
When a booking is cancelled under this policy within 48 hours of departure we will issue a credit note and transfer your payment to any trip you choose (subject to the availability of the trip) to take before 31 Dec 2023. You are free to transfer this payment to another traveller as well.

Before You Go

Things you need to know

FAQs

Q.1 Do I need to be at a specific level of running to participate in this coaching camp? Open or Close

The coaching program has been designed to help runners of all abilities. It will be beneficial if you have been running on a regular basis in the recent past. Your performance level as a runner has no impact on your ability to participate in this program although the ability to run a comfortable 10K will lead to a better experience.

Q.2 I am not an ultra or trail runner as such. Is this camp appropriate for me? Open or Close

The coaching program has been designed with a mix of all experiences - hills, trails, tracks etc. You will explore a new terrain on your runs each day - most certainly things you can't experience or enjoy in your own city. While Chamonix is famous for its trails, this program is not curated with trail runners in mind and most of the modules are focussed on improving your running abilities.

Q.3 What is the best way to travel in and out of Chamonix? Open or Close

Although Chamomix is in France, the best way to get to Chaminix is via Geneva airport. There are regular public shuttles between Geneva Airport and Chamonix that can be booked on
https://www.easybus.com/en/routes/geneva-airport/chamonix-travel-connections-to-from-geneva-airport/
Private or shared transfers can be booked on
https://www.mountaindropoffs.com/
Alternatively, you can request Active Holiday Company to book your transfers. Driving time between Geneva and Chamonix is just 1 hour 15 mins while arriving from Paris or Lyon can take you several hours. Budget at least 5 hours before your flying time on the return journey. The program starts at 4 pm on Day 1 and ends at 11 am on Day 7. Please book your flights accordingly.

Q.4 Is it possible for me to attend the coaching camp and opt out of staying at the location? Open or Close

Since all activities are planned around our accommodation this program is not available without the stay. Moreover, a large part of the program will be your interaction and camaraderie with other participants which is possible only if everyone stays together.

Q.5 Can my family / friends join this trip? Open or Close

Yes. You are welcome to bring along companions, even if they are not interested in running. There are plenty of outdoorsy things to do around Chamonix that can keep them busy when you are attending the coaching sessions. Or even if they want to just relax, there can’t be any better place than Chamonix for a quiet break. Non-participants may not attend any coaching related programs, however their stay, included meals, welcome and farewell dinner, and sightseeing are included.

Q.6 What if Active Holiday Company cannot find someone for me to share the room with? Open or Close

We do get requests from several runners interested in sharing a room with another participant. However, this is not a guarantee and should we not find someone for you to share the room with you will be required to take a single supplement.

Q.7 Will I have time to myself to catch up with work emails etc.? Open or Close

We have carefully planned your day to give you a good balance of running, learning, exploring the destination and free time. All mornings start with a run and most evenings end with a talk. Lunches and dinners are on your own and you can choose to be as social or independent as you please. Each day you will have morning and afternoon coaching session leaving you with a block of time free to catch up with work or plan your own excursions with family / companions if they are coming along.

Q.8 What if I am unable to cope with the training? Open or Close

All the sessions are designed to help the runners learn new skills. In the rare instance where a participant is unable to follow along, he/she can take a momentary break and reach out to the coaches at the end of the session to understand their limitation and the steps to be taken to overcome the limitation in the near future.

Q.9 What sort of meals are included? Open or Close

Chamonix is used to welcoming travellers from around the world and finding food of your choice is not difficult at all. Breakfast is included on all mornings. The two dinners included are local. For lunch and dinner you are welcome to explore from the many options that Chamonix offers.

Q.10 What are the current travel protocols in place to travel to France (or Switzerland if you enter via Geneva)? Open or Close

The conditions for entering France will depend on your country of departure and your vaccination status. As of March 3, 2022, India and UAE are on the "green” list of countries. Please go through the travel requirements here https://in.ambafrance.org/COVID-19-Conditions-for-entering-France-18857
or here if you are travelling for UAE https://ae.ambafrance.org/COVID-19-Can-I-enter-France
If you do not feel well on the day of the camp or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested COVID positive, we recommend that you do not attend and defer your spot to the next coaching retreat.
