The Sydney Marathon is Australia’s largest running festival attracting thousands of participants who run across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and finish under the sails of the Sydney Opera House. The Sydney Marathon is also the first event in the Southern Hemisphere to achieve the highly prestigious World Athletics Platinum Label and with this Platinum Label it is now ranked eighth in the world, becoming one of the leading global road races. The Sydney Marathon is an official candidate race for the Abbott World Marathon Majors (Abbott WMM). 
The 2023 edition of the race promises to be more exciting than ever with an all new marathon course with more course enterntainment and a new cut-off time of 7 hours. September is the best time of the year in Sydney and you are sure to want to add more time to explore its art museums, famous landmarks and monuments, fun bars, clubs, restaurants, and of course, beautiful beaches.

Day 1
Friday: Arrival Open or Close

After arrival at the Airport, We have arranged the transfer to the Hotel. Make sure you arrive well in advance so that you have the time to visit the expo as well.

Day 2
Saturday:Sydney Cocktail Cruise Open or Close

Early in the morning depart to the race venue where the race will start for a warm-up running and stretching. Return in time for breakfast.Evening 4 PM head to Darling Harbour King Street Wharf 1, Where we have arranged the Cocktail Cruise.Take in the stunning colours of Sydney Harbour at day's end, sip a cocktail by the sails of the Sydney Opera House in style. Indulge your taste buds with a premium Australian Cheese & Charcuterie Board to share between two and enjoy the sounds of the acoustic live music on the weekend, all from the comfort of your premium reserved lounge seating Cocktail Bar on Ocean Deck.

Day 3
Sunday:Race Day Open or Close

Today is race day. Enjoy the energy of the event as you run one of the world’s most scenic marathon courses, taking in some of Sydney’s most spectacular and historic landmarks including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Monday:Departure Open or Close

After having breakfast in the morning depart on your own to the airport or maybe even better extend your trip and visit more of Sydney.

Mercure Sydney Wynyard (4 Star)

Mercure Sydney Wynyard is located in the heart of Sydney CBD, close to many iconic attractions including Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. The hotel boasts an on-site restaurant and bar as well as a fitness center, 24-hour reception, and on-site parking. Barangaroo is a 5-minute walk. The Hotel is just 1.3 km from the finish line.

Booking Conditions

A complete registration form with a non-refundable deposit of INR 10000 per person (for race participants) and INR 5000 per companion is needed to confirm your race participation and accommodation. Full payment is due before 30th June 2023.
Cancellation on or before the 15th June 2023 is subject to 100% cancellation.
Any amendment / change in hotel reservations until 30th June 2023 will attract a fee of INR 1500. No Changes are possible after this date. Race entry is strictly non-transferable.

Things you need to know


Q.1 What is the minimum age to enter the Sydney Marathon & Sydney Marathon 21.1km (Half Marathon)? Open or Close

All entrants must be aged 18 years or older on event day to participate in the Sydney Marathon. All entrants must be aged 15 years or older on event day to participate in the Sydney Marathon 21.1k. There is no age restriction for participating in the Sydney Marathon 10k and the Sydney Marathon Family Run 3.5k.

Q.2 Where do I collect my race bib? Open or Close

All race bibs will need to be collected from the Sydney Running Show.To access the Sydney Running Show venue on foot, please enter between 75 &amp; 86 O’Riordan St, Alexandria.<br />

Q.3 Where is the start and finish areas? Open or Close

The start area is located at Bradfield Park, Milsons Point – under the northern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and adjacent to Milsons Point train station.<br />

The finish area for the Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10km will be at the Sydney Opera House and the Family Run will finish at the Royal Botanic Gardens (next to the Conservatorium of Music).<br />

The Recovery Village will be in the Royal Botanic Gardens, located in Tarpeian Way off Macquarie Street, approximately 300m from the Sydney Opera House.

Q.4 How do I get to the start venue - Bradfield Park? Open or Close

It is advised that all participants take public transport to the event, to avoid the large number of road closures that will be in place throughout the event day, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge closing from 4 am-11 am.

The route of the Sydney Marathon takes runners through the city streets of Sydney, with scenic views of the harbor, parks, and iconic landmarks like the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Q.6 What is the weather like during the Sydney Marathon? Open or Close

The Sydney Marathon takes place in the Australian spring, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C.
