Spend a week training in Iten, ‘Home of the Champions’ and take your running to the next level! Hosted by elite coaches, professional guides & experts on Kenyan running, this camp is designed to cater to runners of all experiences and speeds. The altitude, the tranquility, the perfect climate and the great trails make Iten the runners’ favourite! This is not just a training camp. It is a full cultural immersion into the running scene in Iten. You will run with local runners who will guide you through beautiful scenery, sharing the paths and trails with Kenya’s elite runners. Share stories with our staff and athletes, take part in practical and theoretical coaching sessions with elite coaches, enjoy Q&A’s with Kenyan runners, visit local runners in their homes and training camps, and observe Kenyan runners in training.

Day 1
Arrival - Eldoret Open or Close

On arrival at Eldoret International Airport, you will be met by a driver who will transport you directly to the High Altitude Training Centre (HATC) in Iten, your base throughout the camp.
Our group members will be arriving throughout the day on the camps opening day. We will host a casual introduction meeting once all members of our group have arrived that evening.
At this meeting you will be able to meet everyone else in our group and be introduced to all the staff members who will be looking after, coaching, and running alongside you for the next two weeks.
Upon arrival you will also be given your Camp Itineraries and Training Schedules.

Day 2
Guest visit from champion Kenyan runner & training Open or Close

This is your chance to meet a local guest runner and attend an exclusive talk about their life and career; question a world class runner on their training and racing experiences. With so many to choose from your guest visit is sure to be from a truly exciting athlete.
Inspired by the session, we return to the camp for a run followed by a flexibility & mobility session.

Day 3
Training run & seminar on Kenyan running Open or Close

Begin the day with a training run followed by a seminar and Q&A to teach you everything you need to know about Kenyan running and training methods. This seminar is a great forum to discuss your training and all other topics with the coaches.
Follow this up with a practical session on running form & technique

Day 4
Training & visit to Kameriny Track Open or Close

Begin the day with a visit to Kameriny Track on a Tuesday morning when the majority of Iten’s runners can all be found performing speed work around the famous dirt oval perched on the edge of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Our guides and coaches will point out some of the top runners and you will have the chance to meet and chat with the runners.
We return to the camp later for our own training session which will include core stability and strength & conditioning for runners in addition to the training run.

Day 5
Fartlek Open or Close

We will follow one of Iten’s best training groups in vans as the athletes perform their weekly fartlek workout around the trails of the Iten countryside. A fantastic sight and a great photo opportunity. We will also meet the athletes following the completion of the workout.
Return to the camp for your own training session before dinner in the evening.

Day 6
Visit to Kenyan athletes training camp & training Open or Close

Visit the famed training camps where Kenyan’s live together and train hard for running success. Meet and chat with the athletes living in the camp and learn about their experiences both in and out of Kenya.

Day 7
Visit to St. Patrick's High School Open or Close

St Patricks can hold claim to be the greatest running school of all time. With school records that most nations would be proud of and Olympians and world record holders among their alumni. St Patricks is widely acclaimed as having started the Iten running phenomena. The St Patricks school grounds pays homage to its own illustrious past, and it is the current home to the legendary coach Brother Colm O’Connell and world 800m record holder David Rudisha.
On your return from the school, you have the option of joining the formal training session or using the many fitness facilities the camp has to offer.

Day 8
Departure - Eldoret Open or Close

With the trip at an end, take the transfer back from the training camp to Eldoret airport for your flight back home.
