Things you need to know

FAQs

You need no technical skill or experience to accomplish this trek, however a general check up on heart and lungs is a good idea. Most days on this trek are do-able for anyone with the ability to walk 6-8 hours a day with a light rucksack. Some days are more intense than the others. A good exercise regime for a few weeks prior to the trek will serve you well. Be prepared for basic and cold conditions. Budget for drinking water or carry water purifying tablets. Trekking alone may be cheaper but it can get challenging and a group provides motivation as well as security. Altitude sickness is fairly common when trekking altitudes and the good ratio of leaders and porters serves the group well when someone falls sick. Our groups sizes range from 2 to 12 persons.

Please note that most hotel check in timings are post 2 p.m. and checkout timing is 10 a.m.
Should you want to secure your room upon arrival earlier than this, we recommend that you take an extra night or check on early check-in or late check-out charges with us.

Great experience, new friends, a new ME!

It was midlife crisis time when I decided to go for a trek with Active Holiday Company. My 40th birthday was round the corner, and it had been ages since I had gone for a trek. After 2 kids, I was definitely out of shape (and size!), and having moved houses umpteen times, I was also virtually friendless.
The lure of the Himalayas was too much. I trusted Gauri since she was a good friend as well.
Not only did I have a great experience, I also ended up making great friends, ones that I gladly keep in touch even post the trip! I thoroughly enjoyed the 8 days that I spent, and did not miss my family for one sec (:-D Don't tell them that now!).
Everything was well taken care of - food, accommodation, travel, backups. Also, I was the slowest in the group - and the group accommodated that without making me feel out of place at all. I got the 'me' time that I desperately needed to think my way through my mid life crisis! I had the best time of my life!
I look forward to going for my next trip with Active Holiday Company and would happily recommend it to anyone who asked.
