Experience

The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon & ranks as one of the world's most prestigious road racing events since it’s inception in 1897. However, it only officially qualified as a marathon in 1924 when the distance was increased from 26 miles to 26.2miles! The Boston Marathon has distinguished itself as the pinnacle event within the sport of road racing by virtue of its traditions, longevity, & method of gaining entry into the race. It is now one of the World Marathon Majors & is special in that about 80% of the city’s population, over 500,000 people turn out to on the day to support runners. We are proud to be the Official Tour Operator of this prestigious Abbott World Marathon Major race. Our four night package allows runners to overcome the time difference comfortably & arrive at the start line fresh & well-rested. So lace up & get ready to run one of the most iconic races of your life!

On arrival in Boston, make your way from the airport to the hotel. Uber is a great option from Boston Logan International Airport.

Q: How far is the hotel from the start/finish line?
A: The hotel is walking distance to the departure point of the buses that take runners to the start point of the Boston Marathon. The hotel is also less than 1Km away from the finish line. A: We have several single travellers interested in sharing a room with another traveller and, wherever possible, we try to pair up people who have requested rooms on twin share. However, please keep in mind that this is not a guarantee and in some cases you might be required to take a single supplement. Also please be aware that twin bedded rooms are hard to get in the US so it is likely that you will end up with a king size bed with another runner.

Q: I am taking the race package through Active Holiday Company, is it possible for me to upgrade my accommodation?
A: No, it is not possible to change the hotel when you travel with us on certain races, including the Boston Marathon. A. The Boston Marathon does not allow runners to transfer their registrations.
