Q: Can I book extra nights before or after the race?
A: Yes, please get in touch with us and we will be happy to book the extra nights for you. We have various extension packages available on our website and we can also work with you to create a full extension package if you like.

Q. Is the race entry guaranteed if I book a package through Active Holiday Company?
A. Yes, all of our World Marathon Major packages come with guaranteed race entry.

Q: Will I have to collect my own bib?
A: Yes, all the World Major Marathons require that the participants attend the expo in person and collect their bibs. Your travel documents will contain detailed instructions on how to get to and from the expo from your hotel.

Q: How far is the hotel from the start/finish line?
A: If the start/finish line are the same then we try to ensure that the hotel is within walking distance or easily accessible by public transport. Should the start and finish be different, we usually have hotels close to the finish line with transport arranged to the race start. Please check with us about specific races.

Q: What category of hotels are used?
A: The hotels we use for marathons are usually in the 3*-4* category. They are picked for their location and ease of access rather than their star rating.

Q: I am a single traveller, is it possible for me to get a twin share room?
A: We have several single travellers interested in sharing a room with another traveller and, wherever possible, we try to pair up people who have requested rooms on twin share. However, please keep in mind that this is not a guarantee and in some cases you might be required to take a single supplement.

Q: Is it possible for me to buy just the race entry and make my own accommodation arrangements?
A:  As Tour Operators, we are required to sell the race entry along with accommodation. It will not be possible to buy just the race entry.

Q: I’ve got the race entry through the Ballot/Charity, can I buy the accommodation from Active Holiday Company?
Yes, it is possible for us to organise accommodation for you if you already have the entry or if you are travelling with a non-running companion. However, please note that this will be at the same hotel as the rest of the group travelling on our package.

Q: I am taking the race package through Active Holiday Company, is it possible for me to upgrade my accommodation?
A: No, it is not. We plan it such that we have the whole group staying together at a single hotel so it will not be possible to upgrade hotels since you are part of a group booking.

Q. I cannot attend this race. Is it possible for me to transfer my registration to another runner?
A. The Berlin Marathon allows runners to transfer their spots to another runner until a certain date. Please get in touch with us to find out what the exact dates are.
None of the other World Major Marathons allow this.

Q. Is it possible for me to defer my registration to the following year?
A. The London Marathon allows runners to defer registrations to the following year provided it is done within the deadline. Please get in touch with us for the deadlines.
None of the other World Major Marathons permit runners to defer their registration.

Q. Will you be able to assist me with visas and air tickets?
A. Yes, we can help you with visas and flight tickets for an additional charge. Please get in touch with us for details.
