Welcome to the world`s northernmost AIMS certified marathon! The Arctic city of Tromsø at 70°N and the Midnight Sun Marathon are meant for your bucket list. The Midnight Sun Marathon takes place on midsummer, the longest day of the year and a very popular Scandinavian holiday.
Run along the coast with snow-capped mountains in the backdrop, for a once in a lifetime experience. 
Begin with bright sunlight at 8:30pm and you can expect to finish under the midnight sun!
Our run-acation takes you to some of the most picturesque cities and towns of this beautiful Scandinavian nation, from visiting the Nærøyfjord, one of the narrowest fjords in Europe and a UNESCO's World Heritage location to having a day at leisure in the bustling city of Oslo. This fantastic break has it all!

Itinerary

Day 1
Tue, June 12: Arrive - Bergen Open or Close

On arrival at Bergen, make your way from the airport to the hotel. You have the day free to spend the day at as you please.
Your centrally located hotel is an optimal base to explore the city, it is within walking distance from a large offering of museums, art galleries, cultural events and dining opportunities.

Day 2
Wed, June 13: Bergen - Voss - Gudvangen - Flam - Myrdal - Oslo Open or Close

Today you enjoy a scenic train journey to Voss on the Bergen Railway. Travel through charming villages and stunning landscapes including a ride on the steep hairpin bends of Stalheimskleiva.
Experience a fjord cruise on the on the narrow Nærøyfjord – the narrowest and best known of the many arms of the Sognefjord. With its steep mountainsides, hanging valleys, towering peaks, snowfields, waterfalls and small hamlets, this fjord is perhaps the most outstanding natural attraction in Norway and also a UNESCO world heritage site.

Day 3
Thu, June 14: Oslo Open or Close

Get an early start and head out after breakfast to explore Oslo city on a hop-on hop-off bus. It’s the perfect way to discover Norway’s capital at your own pace. Here goes a selection of sights you cannot miss.
Visit the Viking Ship Museum; it’s famous for the Oseberg ship, excavated from the largest known ship burial in the world. Next up; soak up the culture and architecture at the Nobel Peace Centre, the Stenersen Museum, and the Oslo City Hall. Finish up at the Oslo Opera House -home of The Norwegian National Opera and Ballet.
You can also go further and take the tram to Ekeberg Sculpture Park, take a stroll while enjoying the 31 sculptures scattered about.

Day 4
Fri, June 15: Oslo - Tromsø Open or Close

Check out of your hotel in Oslo today and catch your flight to Tromsø – the location of the Midnight Sun Marathon!
Since this is the only day you have to pick up your kit, please ensure that you arrive early enough to visit the expo.

Day 5
Sat, June 16: Race Day! Open or Close

Race Day is finally here!
Carbo-load with a hearty breakfast and get set the for world`s northernmost AIMS certified marathon staring at 20.30 hrs.
Run along the coast with snow-capped mountains in the backdrop, finish under the midnight sun, and join in the post-race revelry for a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 6
Sun, June 17: Depart - Tromsø Open or Close

Say good bye to Tromsø with a medal in the bag and an item checked off your bucket list or, do one better and extend your trip to explore the Scandinavian wonders for a few more days!

Terms & Conditions

A complete registration form with a non-refundable deposit of INR 20000 per person (for race participants) and INR 10000 per companion is needed to confirm your race participation and accommodation. Full payment is due before 30th March 2018.
 
Cancellation on or before the 30th February 2018 is subject to 100% cancellation.
